Today on November 20th, 2018, we are proud to announced that we have become Propel-Certified through Illumina as a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) service provider. Norgen's Propel Certification covers both the NextSeq 500 System and the NextSeq 550 System.

In October 2012 Norgen Biotek Corporation was named Niagara's company of the year at the 2012 Niagara Business Achievement Awards.

In October 2011 Norgen Biotek Corporation achieved successful certification to ISO 15189:2007 for Molecular Diagnostic Testing and Clinical Trials.

In February 2011 Gary Goodyear, Minister of State for Science and Technology visited Norgen Biotek Corporation announcing funding to develop two projects to create new diagnostic test kits.

In November 2009 Norgen Biotek Corporation achieved successful certification to ISO 13485:2003 and ISO 9001:2008. 

In October 2003, Norgen Biotek was recognized by the National Research Council (NRC) as one of Canada’s Innovative Leaders for the development of their nucleic acid and protein purification technology. NRC recognized the power of Norgen’s technology, and it’s ability to benefit both the genomics and proteomics industries. In December 2007, Norgen Biotek was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 10 Life Science Companies. Canada's Top 10 Life Science Companies are evaluated by an independent international panel of life science venture capitalists. The panel selects companies based on their attractiveness as an exceptional investment in Canada, and Norgen Biotek was chosen as one of these companies. The prestigious Canada’s Top 10 competition was invented in 1999 to promote the ten most promising life science companies chosen from a pool of entrants by an independent international jury of life science venture capitalists. Based on their expert knowledge of investment in the life science sector, the jury selects companies that offer the best investment and partnership prospects.

In 2002, Dr. Haj-Ahmad (President and CEO) was nominated for and won the Bell Canada Emerging Entrepreuner Award for his work at Norgen Biotek. The awards are given to men and women who exemplify the true spirit of entrepreneurship, who through hard work, determination, creativity and resourcefulness have established new ventures or lead existing ones into renewed growth.
